Swiftkey is arguably the best suggestions and autocorrections app we have seen till date. Baking it into Windows 10 is going to be super useful for touch-enabled devices or laptops where one uses the software keyboard more often.
Enable or disable SwiftKey suggestions in Windows 10
SwiftKey has been enabled by default in Windows 10 and is set to suggest for languages it supports. So follow the steps to manage it for languages you want a suggestion, and disable it if you don’t want to use it. Open Settings > Devices > Typing. Scroll to the end to find ‘Suggestions and autocorrections‘. Click to open. This section lets you turn off suggestions feature for the languages you do not want to get suggestions.
If you want to completely turn off SwiftKey, disable it for all the languages.If you want to use it only a few languages, just toggle off for them only.
That said, there is no way to completely disable Swiftkey from the OS, as it’s baked into the system. If you want to get suggestions when using the hardware keyboard, you will need to enable a setting in Typing section. Under ‘Hardware Keyboard’, toggle on ‘Show text as I type’ and ‘Autocorrect misspelled words as I Type‘.
After using it for a while, you can go back to Typing section again to check on the insights. Click on Typing Insights, and you can see a number of autocompleted words, suggested words, keystrokes saved, and spelling corrections. Will you be using SwiftKey ? Let us know in the comments section.
